Jen and Aiden contacted us a few months a go to do their wedding photos and decided to do an engagement session while the fall colours were in full bloom. As they are new to the area we thought we would show them one of our favourite special places on the Saanich Peninsula for the shoot. The temperamental November weather was kind to us and decided not only not to soak us but also gave us some very nice late day light. The maples were golden, the snowberries dotted the forest, and the water in the inlet was like glass. We had such a great time hiking through the forest, stopping at interesting spots, and exploring the old cement factory ruins that it felt more like a hike with friends who let us stop to make photographs of them of along the way. We love these sessions as they are a great way for us to get to know the couple and shoot in a more relaxed setting than the busyness of the wedding day.
We had such a great time that now we really can’t wait for Jen and Aiden’s May Metchosin wedding!

While we were in Kelowna for Danya and Aaron’s wedding we also spent a whole bunch of time with some great little people and their parents for some family sessions. This session with Pabby, Oriole and their three lovely girlies was special for us as I have the treat of being called Auntie Emmy as these three girls are the best friends of my three little nieces!! We met up with them one morning in late September at park in Kelowna to get some soft morning light in the almost autumn grass. Aaron and I have been digging the low sunlight in meadows look lately. We had such a great time trying to keep up to little Myah who is always on the go, catching sweet Charlotte when she wasn’t too bashful, and listening to Camille who always has the funniest things to say and of course found a little ladybug to take care of. Thanks for a great morning with a beautiful family!! We will have more family posts from our Kelowna sessions soon!
