Friends, Lambs, and Lovely Days

We just had one of those weekends that we didn’t want to end. Good thing it was an extra long one!  Aaron’s birthday is this week – actually on thursday!!! – and his most favourite place to be is outside in nature.  If we don’t get out in the trees on a regular basis he gets a bit restless.  He also LOVES camping and at the beginning of camping season he is so ready to go – even if the weather would make most curl up with a good book and be thankful they aren’t outside.  So every Easter since we have been together we go camping for Aaron’s birthday and this year was no exception.  We headed out to French beach, which is right on the Ocean, and invited whomever was brave enough to come out with us.  Our fabulous friends Shawna and Chris toughed out the wind, rain, and very smokey campfire to spend two great nights out with us.  On Friday a whole bunch of our good friends came out for the afternoon.  It was cold, wet, and so windy that we are lucky a tree didn’t land on us, but we didn’t care – Aaron’s larger-than-you-can-imagine blue tarp kept us dry (doesn’t hurt to marry a boy scout!) and good friends kept us happy.  After a soggy two days we weren’t tired of Chris and Shawna yet, so we headed out with them for another incredible day.  It started with us scoring a gorgeous huge antique art frame at an antique show, then we scoured a beach for glass and ceramic treasures that wash out of the bank with each tide, and then – oh yes we weren’t done yet – we went to Chris’ family’s sheep farm to see the new lambs!!  We were there a few weeks ago to do a little shoot with them but there were only two little lambs.  This time there were cute fuzzy lambs everywhere!!! Sheep are hilarious!!  They scare easily – look at one the wrong way and it is a fleece stampede. We had to be stealthy when out in the field so that they wouldn’t run away from us.  Don’t worry – no lambs were harmed in the making of these images :) We took cues from the mama to see how close we could get.  The wee ones in the barn weren’t shy at all and one, as you will see, was really curious about the camera. We took so many pics we couldn’t just pick a few so we have included lots to share all the lamb love with you.  Thanks so much to Chris and Shawna for being amazing friends and for bringing us to this special place!
